"We're not gonna feel the main impacts, unlike the coastal states."Īccording to Jamison, winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected to pick up on Monday afternoon for the Phoenix area, bringing some cooler air and causing temperatures to drop down from the upper 80s into the mid-70s on Tuesday. The northern half of the state will be the most affected by rainfall and windy conditions, Percha said. Yet, the storm is expected to weaken as it moves north, bringing in a low impact for Arizona.
This low-pressure system is caused by a bomb cyclone expected to hit the Pacific Coast early in the week, according to meteorologist Marvin Percha with the weather service.
